Guide Review - Bona X MicroPlus Hardwood Floor Care System Review
This Bona Floor Care System was recommended by the dealer for our new engineered hardwood floor. What I like the best about the Bona X Swedish Formula System is, everything needed is in the box including a very soft washable microfiber pad and handle, and a fair size bottle of cleaner. The mop pad is beautiful, very soft and it's perfect for routine dusting of the floor.Cleaning the floor isn't as quick as you'd expect. Mist the hardwood floor with cleaner and spread/rub it with a back and forth motion, cleaning a small area at a time. This does take a few minutes to do and the bottle should be on 'mist', not 'spray' which makes the process more difficult.
What I'm not impressed with is the mop handle's extreme swivel action, that makes it harder to control when cleaning. This is not a problem when you're dry dusting. When cleaning, if the mop pad is wet, the mop pushes easier but you'll have to wash the pad when done, so I prefer cleaning with a dry pad. The results are also better when the pad is used dry. The solution would be to purchase an optional microfiber pad just for dusting.
The reusable microfiber mop pad is quite large and washes and dries beautifully. Use only detergent when washing, no bleach, fabric softener or dryer sheets (per manufacturer recommendation). These can hinder the electrostatic and microfiber nature of the pad.
The Swedish formula cleaner does a fine cleaning and leaves the floor looking polished and clean. Overall, this floor care system is a good buy. With the exception of the extra work involved with a harder-to-control mop, I'm pleased with the results. It's a good way to get the initial equipment you need for cleaning hardwood floors, then you can buy the Swedish Formula Cleaner separately when required.
