Guide Review - Spin & Go 360 Touchless Mop and Wringer Floor Care System Review
September 3, 2010
I was surprised at how light the Spin & Go mop actually is, though it has a fair amount of microfibers in the mop head. The handle comes in three sections and is easy to put together. The length of the handle is average and workable, but though I'm not overally tall, a slightly longer handle would be nice. The pail is also very light, has a good handle design and there's a nice spot to grasp so you can actually empty the bucket from either side. There's also a clear maximum water level line (allows for spinning), and that keeps the weight of the bucket reasonable.
The mop spinning mechanism works surprisingly smoothly and is unlike basic wringer pails - no need to turn the mop, but you shouldn't put unnecessary downward pressure on the mop handle, it needs to spin freely. You can spin as much or as little as you want and it does do a good job of removing water. I especially like the 360 degree swivel; it enables mopping into areas that would otherwise be challenging. The mop cleans well especially in tight areas, such as the floor around the toilet bowl. I was leery of a round disc-shaped mop when it comes to corners, but the microfibers seem to reach into these areas, though lightly rather than with any pressure.
As a floor mop - there's no wringing - bonus for my allergic daughter who must avoid putting hands into a soapy bucket; virtually no bending since spinning simply uses a little foot action (and I mean a little); lightweight mopping that requires hardly any effort; and cleaning performance is very good. The spin wringing function is definitely this mop's best feature as is the lightweight design, making it ideal for the younger helpers, seniors or those that find it a challenge to clean floors. But I found this mop goes well beyond the floors and that makes it a multifunctional cleaning tool.
As a dry dusting mop - it's handy for lots of areas. Wet, it made cleaning the bathtub easier. Our 3-pc tub enclosure has high walls and a ceiling that have always been a challenge to clean, since I cannot easily reach it even when standing in the tub. This mop reached easily and the swivel action was helpful for its contoured walls. Either with the pail inside the tub or just with water/cleaner in the tub, for these tall tub enclosures, the mop's a great cleaning tool. While in the bathroom, I also washed the walls - it works well for this purpose and nice to be able to wring/rinse as needed. I also washed the car with it - that's where the full swivel comes in handy to wash the slanted bumpers and it was easier cleaning the top of the car. This mop would definitely replace my wall washer for these specific tasks, but I'd get more than one mop head for these areas.
