Guide Review - Dyson DC14 All Floors Vacuum Review
I vacuum regularly with a brand-name canister vacuum, so I was amazed and horrified at what this DC14 picked up and the amount of it. Suction power was terrific and even with a full bin - suction was constant. The ease of operation and changing accessories, upright design, size and weight of the unit - were all very impressive.
The clear bin allows monitoring, removes easily and empties effortlessly in a waste receptacle. No bags to buy. To contain dust when emptying, you can close a bag around the bin, though I did not find it necessary. During vacuuming, the air goes through a Lifetime HEPA filter before being expelled back into the room.
I did find dusting with the wand handle took a little getting used to compared to a canister hose handle. However, releasing the hose provided more flexibility and ease, and I adapted quickly to this design. Stairs vacuumed easily with the telescope reach.
Changing to bare floors was easy - a turn of the dial to stop the brushbar and cleaning was great even on hard surfaces. This vacuum has bends and parts that can be easily removed to dislodge blockages, but I had none.
I am very pleased with this vacuum's performance and I'm now convinced that an upright vacuum with brush control, can work well on bare floors.
