How the Imprint Anti-Fatigue Comfort Mat Performed
As for looks, anti-fatigue mats generally do not look very stylish - people buy them because they need relief for back, knee or foot stress - so style is not often a consideration. But this Imprint Comfort Mat is one of the nicest I've seen. Had I been the one to choose the length of this mat, I probably would not have chosen such a long one (72") but during testing, I've come to appreciate this length, as I could easily move from sink to range and to counter workspace, without stepping on/off the mat, nor being half on it - something you want to avoid. Sublime makes other sizes and colors of these mats. The color of this one is especially nice and easy care, and the top has a diamond pattern.
I used the Comfort Mat mainly in the kitchen where I spend the most time. Where I intended to use it at the counter peninsula, I found it most beneficial where I stand the longest every day - doing dishes at the sink (no dishwasher), while benefiting at the prep area and making meals at the range. I moved it to a different area when I was canning for hours - I no longer would want to be without a comfort mat. My kitchen floor is cushion vinyl (3 layers), so I expected some comfort, but was surprised at how much difference the mat made, even on this rather soft flooring. After standing at least forty-five minutes in the same spot, the bare feet indentation restored not immediately, but within only a few minutes - which I find very good. It vacuums very well - the vacuum glides over the top and the mat washes easily. Please note that only a standard non-brush roll floor tool should be used if you vacuum these mats.
As for durability, the long warranty is definitely a plus. When it comes to use in a garage, durability will depend on what you do in that area. But I would expect to get several years from this mat for kitchen, bath or laundry and for these areas, I recommend it. Whether you stand for short periods or for hours baking, cooking or canning, this mat will make you more comfortable. And go for the longer length if practical for the area. Price is very reasonable for an anti-fatigue mat, given its many features.
After using the Imprint mat for several months, one thing has become evident. Though it is comfortable and does provide some relief from foot stress, after several hours, it feels like you are walking on sand and that comfort quickly turns into fatigue. The softness of this mat can also cause balance issues. I've also found myself tripping on the edge, which should really have a wider taper to ease the transition from floor to mat. I still really like this mat for its easy to clean features and look, but consider it more for those who require light duty cushioning. I don't recommend it for seniors because of the tripping and balance issues that I've experienced.
