I especially like the look and smaller profile of this 2-slice Bravetti toaster and it has all the basics plus the design specifics that I was looking for, so I can store it when not in use. This is the first appliance I chose more on design attributes, than on demonstrated performance. But it paid off, I got the specs I was looking for plus good performance.

How the Bravetti Toaster Performed

March 15, 2010 I chose this particular model based on size, bagel setting and the fact that controls were on the end of the toaster opposite where the cord is attached. That's because I wanted to be able to easily take it in and out of, as well as plug it into the receptacle that is located inside the appliance garage, which I utilize for bread storage (and toaster). Therefore, size had to be compact without sacrificing bagel-wide slots. It met all the criteria with flying colors.

As for performance, it more than met my expectations, which were low given the economical price of the toaster. It browns nicely and evenly, and the bagel slots though not as large as some models, are adequate. Unlike some other models, this toaster does not use phantom power while it's inactive, since indicator lights are only activated when in use, with the lever in the downward position.

It's not a speed demon, taking longer for the initial toast and quicker going forward. The metal construction helps to retain the heat, yet the exterior of the toaster remains cool to touch. All the controls are conveniently located on the one end, along with the slide-out crumb tray.

As for the stainless finish - it does collect fingerprints but not as bad as some appliances. Even with a little maintenance, I do like the look, style and finish of this toaster.

Overall Impression

Sizing and design format were tops in my toaster selection and I understand the problems consumers face when trying to find a compact toaster for an RV or short counter area, but this one met all my demands, plus performs very well. There are smaller models on the market, but unfortunately none met all my preferred specs and budget. The electrical cord is more than ample at 36" and the excess can wrap underneath. It's difficult to find a toaster with a long cord (or any appliance) and I understand the safety aspect, but in this case, I needed the length. Consumers should use care when handling appliances with long cords.

This toaster is not designed to handle oversize bread slices, but average size breads. This is acceptable given the smaller sizing. Maintenance is reasonable, fingerprints do wipe off easily and the crumb tray slides smoothly and washes up nicely. If you're looking for an economical, compact toaster with a bagel setting and side controls, the Bravetti TT200B is a good choice.
