Now that you have 3 dough strands, place the longest one in the middle and attach them together by pinching the tops of the strands and tuck them underneath the top edge.

Start braiding the three strands as you would normally make a large hair braid, starting with the right strand, then the left etc. Continue until you run out of dough, and finish by pinching together the bottom ends and tuck them underneath the braid.

With practice, your braid will look cleaner and more even. But don't fret with how your braid looks, your braided bread will still be a hit and no one will be measuring the strands.

If braiding is a challenge for you, take out a doll or Barbie and make her a hair braid to freshen your memory on the braiding technique. I've had to do that a time or two.
