The Whirlpool Duet Sport™ YWED8500S High Efficiency Dryer is a pleasure to use and maintain. I found it dries very well and I've even been able to further reduce drying time using the Timed Cycle to 20 minutes for certain loads. The status lights are really convenient as is the Wrinkle Shield™ feature. A terrific compliment to the Duet Sport™ HT Washer WFW8500S. Installing the Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer was no problem, it requires 220V and we chose the side venting option. Instructions are very clear in the manual. Placement was side by side but the laundry pair may be stacked later with the optional kit, at which time we will reverse the door for convenience.Capacity is great, almost full sized - I dried a double size bedspread in less than half an hour. The controls are very easy to operate and I often used the Timed Dry with reduced drying time as low as 20 minutes for some loads, for even further energy efficiency. The preset cycles such as Heavy Duty, Casual... automatically adjust the temperature and spin for that type of clothing, and the AccelerCare™ feature has sensors to adjust the heat based on dryness and time. The Quick Dry and Touch Up settings were very handy.
The lint filter is large and well placed at the front of the drum. The SpillGuard™ top makes a great folding area. Operation is reasonably quiet and you can turn the End-of-Cycle on or off.
This Whirlpool Duet Sport Electric Dryer performs very well and has great drying and convenience features.
