Saber Knives 3.5" Paring Knife Review

This Saber Paring knife has quickly become my favorite parer. It has the same quality features as the other Saber knives, including a Granton edge which is unusual on a paring knife. It's just as sharp as the other knives and performs well. The handle length is slightly shorter than most and that seems to give me better control and a more comfortable grip than others I've used. It just feels right in the hand and I love the 3.5" blade length.

We found this 5" Knife ideal for a variety of slicing, chopping tasks. It has a nice flexibility making it easy to bone chicken or chops, but not as much as a filleting knife which has a much thinner blade. Boning yes, but the 5" sharp blade length makes it a very nice non-serrated utility knife.

More About Saber Knives

The Saber Knives company makes a 12-Pc Working Chef Knife Set with a magnetized carry bag, a 12-Pc Home Chef Set with a storage block, and a smaller 9-Pc F15 Home Chef Set with block. The company also sells knives individually for those who want to grow their set slowly. All knives are forged of the same high-quality German steel and undergo the same manufacturing process. The sampling tested forms a very good representation of the quality, performance and sharpness of the Saber Knives sold individually or in sets. As for prices, Saber Knives prides itself in offering professional German steel quality knives for the working or home chef, at very affordable prices.

Care and Maintenance of Saber Knives

Knives came with a small plastic blade point guard. Given the sharpness of the Saber Knives, they should be stored properly either in a knife bag or knife block. They should not be stored in a knife drawer amongst several other knives, which could create a hazard and harm their blades.

These knives should also be handwashed as recommended by the manufacturer and dried completely before storing. They have a nice stainless blend to resist rust spots, but even knives with the highest chromium content will rust if left wet or not completely dried before storing. See the manufacturer's site for details on how to refresh the edge.
