Lee Chesson Handcrafted Wooden Home Accessories

Lee Chesson Studios specializes in handcrafted laminated wooden accessories for the home. Items such as wooden cutting boards, hand-turned rolling pins, checker boards, boxes, lazy susans, chess boards and other beautiful and functional home and gift articles.

According to Lee Chesson Studios, Lee took his dad's love for functional wood and applied his own passion for detailed fit and finish to create functional items with clean, crisp lines. Lee loves the artistic expression that colorful exotic woods add to his products.

His love for detail extends to finishing the underside of his handcrafted items - to make that side as beautiful as the top. This is clearly demonstrated by the strip of exotic wood laminated into the wooden base of his lazy susans. Here are some examples of three of his products:

Laminated Wooden Cutting Boards

This LP01 Cutting/Serving Board is 18" long including the handle, 7/8" thick, has a 12" x 12" cutting surface area and can be conveniently wall-hung. This particular board is made of Purpleheart (purple), Pau Amerillo (yellow), Padauk (orange) and Virginia Black Cherry. It is natural with an olive oil finish.

Lazy Susans

Lee Chesson Lazy Susans are available in 4 sizes - 16", 17", 18" and 19", are 1" thick and made of Cherry, Walnut or Ash. The one shown here is made of Walnut. The round base is made of the same wood, with an accent strip of exotic wood for added detail finish. The swivel hardware is a heavy duty 6" ball bearing. The Lazy Susans have a hand-rubbed waterproof poly finish.

Hand-Turned Rolling Pins

These beautiful 18" long and 2-1/4" in diameter rolling pins are hand-turned and made of a combination of Maple, Cherry and Walnut woods.
