The Bottom Line
The Sachi Vino Insulated Wine Tote is well-designed and ideal for those who want to keep wine cool for taking to socials. Since the padded divider tray is removable, it offers even more cold or warm food storage options. I'd recommend the 3-bottle Sachi Vino over the 2-bottle tote simply because of the added value and versatility of the larger tote for $3 more.
Pros
- Looks like a stylish tote
- Padded tray dividers are extra thick
- Smooth zipper operation; large zipper pull
- Good options for carrying (handles or shoulder strap)
Cons
- Flat bottom could be slightly larger but tote would be bulkier

Guide Review - Sachi Vino 35-042 Large Insulated Wine Tote
December 3, 2010
On the outside, the Sachi Vino 3-bottle Wine Tote looks like a stylish nicely designed all-purpose tote with sturdy handles and strap option. The synthetic material has a mostly ribbed design and the bottom is reinforced. The clever removable padded tray makes the tote very versatile, so you can use it for wine or anything else a fully insulated bag is handy for. That might include special dietary foods, taking beverages, snacks and even the camera on a hot day's outing, picnic lunch or just to bag hot or cold grocery items for the drive home. It's a handy tote even for those who do not drink wine.
As for space inside the tote, I was able to get three regular-size wine bottles (1L and 2-750 ml) in the Sachi Vino, the tallest one being 13" inches. The small pocket can hold a corkscrew, glass charms and/or bottle closure. The long shoulder strap also stores nicely in this small pocket. Because the padded nylon tray is 9" high, it affords a safe carrying option (with care) for one wine bottle and two stemware glasses. There's lots of other possibilities - one wine bottle, two coolers or sparkling water; or lunch for two with or without the padded divider.
The Wine Tote is slim, not bulky when carrying over the shoulder. It has a flat 5" bottom that keeps it mostly upright when filled, though it could tip when nudged, which should not be a problem. It's hard to say if upright stability would be better with a wider flat bottom, but that would surely reduce portability so slimmer is a worthy trade-off. The Sachi Vino is a great alternative to the non-insulated brown paper bag. How long it keeps wine cold depends on a few factors including the temperature of the wine bottles when placed in the tote, as well as outdoor and vehicle temperature during the commute, so that will vary. Bottles should be cooled prior to bagging.
Note About the Sachi Vino Line:
Sachi makes two sizes of Sachi Vino Insulated Wine Totes, a 2-bottle tote and one that holds 3 bottles of wine. They are available in choice of three colors: Tan, Black or Brown and both sizes have padded inserts and similar features with a small variation in the insert. The model tested is the Tan 3-Bottle tote model 35-042.
