Guide Review - Sachi Designer Insulated Lunch Bag Style 25-021, Brown Hearts Pattern - Review

December 2, 2010
The Sachi insulated bag is much nicer up close and personal - the web images do not do it justice. The pattern - Brown Hearts, gives this particular bag a whimsical look and it looks more like a purse or handbag, than a lunch bag. Sachi has many different styles and patterns to choose from.

I found the bag more comfortable on the arm, rather than on the shoulder, others may not. It's fully insulated and is easy to wipe clean inside and out, can be used to keep foods warm or cold. The bottom is reinforced and handles are sturdy. The detailing such as the neat stitching, two pockets, mirror and charm all add style to this bag. The zippers are nylon, operate smoothly and have oversize tabs - nice touch. The bag sits upright (or can fold to store); the bottom has ample depth to pack and keep upright.

At first glance, the Sachi bag looks small but holds lots without being bulky. Keep in mind that this bag is not meant for family picnics, but it does have ample space for one person's lunch. There's no interior divider leaving versatile space for a commuter's lunch, snacks or drinks for an outing or special dietary foods. You could even use it for medications that must be kept cool while on an outing. Here's what I filled it with: Single sandwich container, small salad, granola bar, yogurt, two fruits, bottle of water (on its side) and a small ice pack. There was still some room left and the front and back pockets can be used for small items. You can put cutlery in the back pocket. Whether you need an ice pack or how long it will keep your lunch cold will vary with certain factors: Heat, whether you refrigerate the bagged lunch at work or not, and how cold the items were when packed. I wish I would have had one of these years ago when we had to take an allergic child's special foods out with us to the restaurant; a small cooler was tacky but necessary.
