Guide Review - T-Fal Ultraglide Steam Iron Model 1749 Review

This steam iron has performed wonderfully, the ultraglide coated soleplate is terrific and can't be beat, it's better than usual non-stick finishes. The iron has enough power with 1400 watts to press stubborn creases and wrinkles, and there are sufficient steam vents and settings.

Filling the steam iron consists of sliding out a small plastic fill drawer which prevents a lot spillage like I've had with other models. It is well built, solid, and well-balanced in the hand. It sits well in an upright position on the ironing board.

There is a nice levered system (not quite a swivel) where the cord attaches, and cord length is adequate. The settings for fabrics are easy to read but I do find that it's difficult to tell exactly where the dial is set, you have to lift and hold the iron up at an angle.

Economically priced and a good performer, I am very satisfied with this appliance for performance and handling.

If you usually store your iron in a wall or door-mounted iron hanger, the design of this iron is slightly different and it doesn't fit my holder.
