Guide Review - Chantal Party Pan - Enamel on Steel Cookware

At 3-1/4 qt capacity, the Chantal Party Pan is a perfect size for a family one-dish meal or guest entree. I put it through a test with a known 'sticky' meal - a pasta and sauce recipe. Although a little oil would be recommended, I heated the sauce in it with no oil and added the pasta.

The meal heated up very quickly and evenly because of the heavy-gauge carbon steel construction. There was no burning and absolutely no sticking over the 25 minutes cooking time. Handles remained cool and the glass tempered lid prevented spatters while allowing meal monitoring. The sloped design of the pan made stirring effortless, and it 'served' beautifully on the table.

I did refrigerate the leftovers overnight in the pan (manufacturer recommends only 1 night for acidic foods), and contents easily warmed up the next day. There was no reaction to foods nor any staining. Although this enamel-on-steel cookware and lid are dishwasher safe, I found hand-cleaning it was extremely easy - food residue just slid off.

I love the versatility of this pan - that it can go from freezer to oven and then to table, and the ease of cleaning - a real time-saver.
