How the Farberware Cookware Performed
Out of the box, the shape of these pots reminds me of my mother's pots because of the straight sides and what I'd consider a traditional design. Though I'm not certain I would radiate to this shape style if I were looking for pots, nor would I normally select nonstick with a dimpled cooking surface in the bottom, I got to really like these features during testing.
The set includes a very good assortment of practical pieces - all the basics you need if starting a kitchen and it's really nice that the Saute pan lid also fits the 10" skillet. The color and overall look of this set is really beautiful; my hubby absolutely loves the color, which is surprising. Even the bottoms look nice. The pot and skillet handles offer a comfortable grip.
Something this cookware set has that many lack - sufficient (lid) handle height. I love the design of the lid handles and the stay-cool-nonslip aspect, but you can actually get a hand in/around one of these without fear of touching the hot lid - bonus. Other cookware manufacturers should take note. My hubby loves this as well; most lid handles are sized more for small hands.
The DuPont™ Teflon® Nonstick coating is a joy to cook on; cleans like a dream and the manufacturer says you can use metal utensils in it. This goes totally against my grain when it comes to care for nonstick. I cannot do it - so plastic, silicone or wood is still my utensil choice, even with this set. But it does tell me that this coating is more durable than many out there, when the manufacturer says you can use metal. Always refer to the manufacturer's care recommendations when it comes to nonstick - care tends to vary. See more about DuPont™ Teflon® Nonstick below.
As for performance, we both enjoyed cooking with this nonstick set. Eggs, omelets fried nicely in the skillets and regardless what we cooked, there was no sticking so the dimpling does seem to help with food release. I found the Saute pan very convenient for one-dish meals. Even overheated sticky rice did not scorch or create a difficult mess to clean. Pans heated up quickly. Though a lightweight set, the cookware construction seems adequate for even heating and no hot spots were detected during testing.
There is however something that could be improved. The rivets inside the two skillets are not laying flat enough against the curved interior, leaving an area where food can get trapped. It means that you need to be diligent to wash/clean well under the edge of the rivets. Also note that this cookware is safe up to 350degF, if using it in the oven.

We also trust Dupont's Teflon® nonstick coatings. Today's nonstick is much safer than it was in the early years. Note that not all nonstick coatings are the same and we tend to stick with trusted brands.
Dupont™ has been manufacturing its Teflon® nonstick coatings for more than 50 years.
