How the Cuisinart 4-Cup Coffee Maker Performed
The carafe has a loose fitting lid that does sit flush, but you have to hold down the lid tab with your thumb when pouring. The pouring spout is rather flat and certainly could be improved. Although it pours fine if you go slow, it tends to drip if you're in a hurry.
This coffee maker is quite small, takes very little counter space and has a nice styling. The cord is a reasonable length. As with most coffee makers, although it's sold as a 4-cup model, capacity doesn't come close and it actually serves only two average coffee mugs. This kind of measurement (smaller cup size) is standard with most brewers, but for a second coffee maker, this unit's size is adequate for us - helps to cut down on coffee drinking mid-day and we also waste less. For a travel model, it's small, lightweight and portable.
For a small coffee maker, it has some very good features not often found with other same-size brands, such as brew pause, which worked well and an auto shut-off function which I find is a must-have feature. I also like the non-scratch warming plate which cleans up nicely.
This is the best 4-cup model I've used (I've had several) and although I think the spout could be improved a tad, I'm very satisfied with performance, ease of use, price and especially the long warranty.
