My search for a cooktop cleaner has taken me to several brands and this Whirlpool has become a favorite cleaner. It cleaned well except for a couple of burned-on food stains that have become quite resistant to any cleaner. While some brands would only partially clean and not give any protection between cleanings, with the Whirlpool cooktop cleaner, I only have to clean my range cooktop about once a week - not every day as with some others.
It's fairly easy to use. Drizzle some on the cooled cooktop, spread and buff with a soft cloth. It dries very quickly. Burned on food residue does require more scrubbing effort and an occasional repeated cleaning. But overall, the Whirlpool brand is one of the best I've used.
Though Whirlpool recommends using their Cooktop Protectant in between cleanings, I find the cleaner alone seems to do a good job of keeping it reasonable.
