Making bread with a breadmaker is very easy - it does most of the work for you. However, cleaning after the breadmaking can take a few minutes, but there are some short cuts to make cleaning the breadmaker quick and easy.

Right after removing the bread or dough from the bread machine, fill the machine pan with warm soapy water and set aside for a few minutes. Although most breadmaker pans are non-stick, if the dough or bread residue is allowed to sit for awhile, it becomes harder to clean. Filling it immediately with warm water will make clean-up a breeze.

Change the water and give the inside a wash, using only plastic scouring or sponge if required. Rinse, dry completely and insert the small kneading paddle in the pan before returning the unit to the bread machine.

Likewise, if the dough has risen high enough in the bread machine to come into contact with the window or sides of the lid, wipe these parts immediately to remove the food residue. It will be harder to clean if left until later.
