Breadmaker Use & Care

Breadmaker pans have a set of gears built in to the bottom of the pan. This is what operates the kneading paddle. These gears should never be wet - this could hamper proper operation of your machine.

When cleaning, never immerse the pan in water, just fill it with hot soapy water and wash the inside of the pan. Rinse and dry well before returning to the breadmaker. Wipe the outside of the pan if required, using care not to wipe the gear mechanism.

Some bread makers may have sealed or covered gears, check your product manual if unsure how to clean your unit.

Most breadmaker pans are non-stick to make it easier to get the bread or dough out. So care should be taken not to use any metal object in the pan. Use a rubber or silicone spatula to remove any excess dough or bread from the pan.
