How the Stoppy Performed

At first glance you can't help but smile when you initially handle the Stoppy™. It's one of those gadgets that you have to ask: "Why haven't I thought of this". It fits in your hand well, so yes you could use it as a stress grasp, but it's not quite pliable enough for building finger and hand strength. Its primary function of course is as a door or window stop. And it does this quite well, in a variety of positions, so the window is not limited to a 2" opening - you can wedge it in on the side of the window at whatever opening height you want. It grips tightly, there's no getting by the Stoppy.

I found it interesting exploring the different positions when it comes to door stop use. Sure it holds the door open - no problem there. But it also holds doors shut and that's important because you can use it to bar a toddler from the home shop, bathroom or any room, simply by jamming it on the (toddler) side at the bottom of the door. Of course, that will only work till they figure out how, or have the strength to remove it, but it might give you sufficient time to child-proof other areas. It does a great job holding bifold doors shut too, making closets off limits to those curious tots. You need two Stoppys for a pair of bifolds. The Stoppy is also ideal for holding the condo, apartment or entrance door (the one that slams and auto locks when you let go) to keep it temporarily open, while you unload the car or bring groceries in.

You can also use a Stoppy to get a window from rattling in the wind, or to keep a bedroom door open and secure when there's a breeze blowing in through the window. For the RV, you can keep the refrigerator door ajar during off season. Though I didn't try it in a hotel, I can see where it would provide that added relief of being able to keep the door safely secured. Actually, the more I look at the Stoppy, the more I want to find other uses for it and I'm sure I will.

Overall Impression

Stoppy is the essential door and window stop that fits in a drawer, in a pocket or in your overnight bag when traveling. It's an innovative gadget that is both a practical home essential, as well as a safety tool. It's also a cute conversation piece. For those with toddlers or crawling infants, it's a must to bar access to unsafe and restricted areas.
