You have to listen to hear it and know it's on. It continually moves the air, draws it in, destroys air contaminants and returns refreshed air to the room. When the sun streaks through the room, there are no longer dust particles seen gaily floating in the air - they are gone. To an allergy sufferer like myself, less dust and allergens means easier breathing and healthier living. I highly recommend this air purifier - it does an excellent job of cleaning and refreshing the air. Pros

Description
Guide Review - Oreck XL® Professional Air Purifier Tower - ReviewThe Oreck Air Purifier Tower was actually smaller than I expected. It blended in nicely and has a convenient recessed handle making it easy to lift and move it. Locating it was not a problem since it could be placed close to walls or furniture. The Silent setting was so quiet it didn't interfere with the television, but Turbo sounds like a hurricane. The Silent mode was sufficient and once a week I placed it in the center of the room on a higher setting for an hour. Occasionally, crackling could be heard when particles were being zapped - this is normal. Not loud enough to be annoying, just reassuring that the purifier was working. What makes this purifier different from others? It doesn't wait for particles to float by, but draws in the air from across the room, cleans it and destroys allergens. This was evident when the filter was checked and to our surprise, there was no accumulation of dust or particles in it - they were destroyed. And the absence of the usual floating dust particles in the room was quite noticeable. Even with the Odor Absorber turned off, the clean air returned to the room was fresher. This was most enjoyable at night, as it gave the bedroom a fresh air feeling you'd usually only get from an open window. This fresh cleaned air made it definitely easier to breathe. The price for this unit seemed a little high, but it's difficult to compare it to other air purifiers, since it employs an advanced air cleaning system with the Exclusive Truman Cell Technology. Since filters are permanent and need not be replaced - maintenance cost is minimal, and the unit's 5 year (unit) and lifetime (Truman Cell) warranties are a good benefit. All features considered, it's hard to put a price on this much allergy relief. It does an excellent job of removing allergens and particles from the air. Read Profile for more details. |
