If you've found a water puddle under or near your coffee maker and your first thought is to plug the leak by sending it straight to the refuse pile, a little investigating may save its life. Most new coffee makers have a tiny overflow hole at the back, which isn't always very noticeable. When filling your brewer with water, if you are anywhere near the maximum water level (or over), just moving the pot on the counter can send a wave of water, straight out the back and to the counter. Next time you see water, start watching your fill - this could be the cause of leaks. If it's not, then I say - time to go!
