Front-load washers have much faster spin cycles than traditional washing machines and wash items tend to 'stick' to the drum at the end of the spin.
When removing the washload from the washer, manually rotate the drum a full circle to make sure you find and remove all the items in that load. This may not seem too important, but you can risk damaging good clothing if your next load is a hot bleach washload or a 'clean machine cycle'. I get agitated if I find a dark woolen sock that stayed behind and snuggled with a new white tee-shirt.
