Dyson recently released a new upright - the DC41 that features their Ball™ design and Radial Root Cyclone™ technology. 
It's a slimmer upright than previous models - they've done away with a lot of bulk, yet this upright is full featured and delivers when it comes to cleaning power. I took the new DC41 Animal for a spin and while one floor care feature in particular improved cleaning performance, another design attribute fell slightly short of my expectations.
