If you're looking for a small blender and I mean small - 4" - to be exact, for blending protein drinks or icy beverages to take on your morning commute, this Hamilton Beach single-serve blender may be the perfect thing. Though it's low wattage, it can handle ice nicely. And you can make one for your travel companion too - it comes with two jars and travel lids. Learn more about this cool little blender and how it performed in my Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender Model 51102 Review.

Popcorn Anyone?

Saturday July 11, 2009
There's just something about the smell of corn popping - it stirs the inner child and gets us drooling. A hardware retailer has a similar popcorn maker right in the store, popping away - filling the place with that sweet, hard-to-ignore aroma, so guests can have free corn while they shop. What a crowd pleaser. I don't know if it makes you buy more, but it sure keeps a person hanging around the store longer and everyone you see in there, is smiling and eating. Makes me want to find an excuse to go back there.

This particular model is made by Waring Pro and it can pop 12 cups of corn in less than 3 minutes. It has a heat lamp to keep the corn warm, that is, if there's any left. Pop a batch and watch the kids come running in. This crowd pleaser appliance would be a great theater room accessory during the winter, but I think it would make the summer backyard staycation a big hit. A pitcher of lemonaide or iced tea would go along nicely too.

Bella Professional Coffee Maker Review

Thursday July 9, 2009
I'm an occasional tea drinker but coffee is definitely my beverage of choice - morning, noon or night - so the key factor I look for in a coffee maker, is how well it performs its most important function - brewing coffee. Don't get me wrong, I do care about construction and style - a nice-looking appliance certainly deserves a closer look and I employ all the features I can get, but these take a back seat when it comes to coffee flavor. And every now and then I run into a coffee maker that actually saves me money because it needs less coffee to get the same great taste and that really gets my attention. This Bella Professional's style beckoned a second look, so I decided to try out this coffee maker to see if it makes as good a coffee as it looks. Find out the results of my home test in my Bella Professional Coffee Maker Review.
